Oct 2--Don Luce

Yet another former Leaf

Don Luce

Selected by New York Rangers round 3 #14 overall 1966 NHL Amateur Draft.

Don Luce was a superior defensive centre and penalty killer who could score and work the power play. His strong two-way play and work on face offs aided all five teams on which he played, especially the Buffalo Sabres.
He is remembered among Sabres fans fondly for his work ethic on the ice, his amazing abilities on the penalty kill, in the team's front office, and in the community where he and his wife Diane continue to act charitably even though they are no longer affiliated with the Sabres. He is also remembered by some as having the best hair not only in Sabres history but also in Buffalo sports history
Luce was inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame in 1986
