Murray Hall made his NHL debut with the Chicago Black Hawks during the 1961-62 season with a two-game appearance. He spent the majority of the next two seasons in the minors before returning for a 23-game stint with the Hawks in 1963-64.
Claimed by Detroit in the Intra-league Draft in June 1964, Hall put up enough points with the Pittsburgh Hornets to merit the periodic invitation up to Detroit for regular seasons or playoff games between 1964 and 1967. The 1967 Expansion Draft saw him move to Minnesota. He played 17 games for the North Stars before a series of trades sent him to the Rochester Americans (AHL) and the Vancouver Canucks (WHL).
When Vancouver became a part of the expanding NHL, Hall's rights were transferred to the new franchise. He spent a full season and a half with the Canucks before returning to Rochester and the AHL. He was selected by the Houston Aeros of the WHA in the 1972 General Player Draft and stayed with that franchise through the 1975-76 season. He spent part of the next two seasons in the CHL and OHA Sr. before retiring in 1978.
